Welcome to Mangaweka School

The children come from various backgrounds, origins and academic abilities.  They all have a great attitude to school and learning.  

The school encompasses a large geographical area, with a great school bus service.  The community supports the school well and families contribute to school life.  Events at the school are well supported by parents, extended family and the wider community.  The school has a pro-active BOT. You are welcome to stop and have a photo with “Sam” our school Weka.

There are several schools of a similar size in the district, which means that a wide variety of inter-school activities occur throughout the year.

The school is located adjacent to State Highway 1 in the Mangaweka township. Situated in the heart of the Rangitikei District, Mangaweka is a significant hub for adventure tourism with rafting, kayaking, camping, tramping, deer stalking and trout fishing right on our doorstep.  Just 15 minutes south of Taihape where you can find an excellent range of services, cafes and shopping, and just an hour away from Palmerston North, Whanganui, Tongariro National Park and the Mt Ruapehu skifields.
